New Delhi: Technology services giant Capgemini announced on Wednesday the launch of a 6G research lab in Gurgaon, India.
The lab will build advanced testbeds and simulators to explore use cases for next-generation wireless networks, 6G concepts and the creation of energy-efficient solutions.
“The 6G Lab will allow us to prototype, simulate and test solutions that leverage next-generation connectivity and silicon technologies as well as advanced artificial intelligence to address the wireless communication challenges posed by 6G,” said Shamik Mishra, Chief Technology and Innovation Officer, Connected Future’ Capgemini said in a statement.
He added: “As we lead the way in harnessing the potential of this emerging technology, we will also contribute to harmonizing 6G technology efforts across the industry.”
In May 2022, Capgemini announced a joint research project with King’s College London to explore the possibilities of 6G, focusing on developing an architectural framework to support low-latency, AI-generated and sustainable 6G networks.
Now, the company says, the new lab will build on this initial work to further develop and demonstrate the wide-ranging possibilities of 6G as a key lever for energy-efficient and data-driven smart industries.
