Hyderabad: With the countdown to school reopening already underway, students have just a few more weeks to enjoy their summer break. The schools are scheduled to reopen for the new school year on June 12.
While schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had already started the 2023-24 school year in March and April, schools accredited by the State Council will start the new school year on June 12.
As the summer vacation draws to a close, some families traveling or returning to their hometowns for vacation begin to pack their bags.
“After the eighth grade exam, the homework of Class Nine was reserved for one month, and then the summer vacation was until June 11. Although the teacher did not assign much homework, my parents insisted on learning the concept of Class Nine.” Currently, I Relaxing in my hometown,” said Irene, a ninth-grade student at a private CBSE school.
For some, however, the holidays don’t mean much. Especially the students of classes X, XI and XII are busy during the holidays attending online courses organized by the school management or preparing for the IIT Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) or National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination (NEET).
“Even though it is summer vacation, the school management conducts online classes for about an hour every morning,” said a CBSE student.
With just a few weeks left, even parents are busy buying notebooks, stationery and textbooks that are already on sale to prepare for their wards. Although the teachers are given summer vacation, they are still required to prepare lesson plans and report them.
“We were required to submit subject lesson plans and classroom teaching content. Before the holiday, the school management conducted training on innovative teaching methods. Teachers are required to report to the school on June 2,” said a teacher of classes XI and XII at a CBSE school.
bad bata
Meanwhile, the school education department is planning to hold Badi Bata (enrollment events) in public schools from June 1 to 9. As part of the campaign, teachers will conduct door-to-door campaigns to identify children and register them for their respective school levels upon enrollment.
Out-of-school children or dropouts will also be identified and placed in schools in appropriate classes according to their age.
