Hyderabad: Pahadishareef police have made a breakthrough in the murder of an unidentified man reported on Thursday and the victim was identified on Friday.
The victim was identified as Puran Singh (30 years old), a resident of Patel Nagar, Bandlaguda, under the Chandrayangutta police station confinement, and a cart vendor, officials said.
Puran Singh disappeared from his home on May 22. Following a complaint from his wife Mamata Devi, Chandrayangutta Police registered a disappearance and launched an investigation.
On Thursday, as police and family members were searching, Pransinger’s body was found stuffed in a bucket floating in the Musi River stream.
Investigations suggest the attackers may have killed him elsewhere and dumped his body in the water, which floated and reached Pahadishareef.
Pahadishareef police said the case will be changed and handed over to Chandrayangutta police for further investigation. The body was transferred to the Osmania General Hospital mortuary and handed over to the family after an autopsy in the evening.
