Bangalore: The Congress Party’s formal cabinet took effect on Saturday as 24 cabinet ministers were sworn in at Raj Bhavan’s swearing-in ceremony.
Governor Thaaarchand Gehlot officiated at the swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed Cabinet ministers.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Dy CM DK Shivakumar and Speaker UT Khader congratulated the new minister.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the ceremony, Siddaramaiah said the assignment of cabinet ministers will be done today (Saturday) or tomorrow (Sunday).

Congress Leader Shivaraj Tangadagi; AICC Chairman Mallikarjun Kharge’s close confidant Sharanprakash Rudrappa Patil; Mankal Vaidya belonging to the Mogaveera community; D. Sudhakar representing the Jain community; Bhyrathi Suresh; Madhu Bangarapa; MC Sudhakar also swear in the name of God.
Congress leader HC Mahadevappa took an oath of honesty and loyalty. KN Rajanna is sworn in the name of Buddha, Basava, Ambedkar and Maharshi Valmiki.
Congress leader Sivanand Patil was sworn in in Basavana’s name. SS Mallikarjun is sworn in the name of God Kalleshwara.
Laxmi Hebbalkar takes oath in the name of Jagajyothi Basaveshwara, Chatrapati Shivaji, Dr. Babasaheb. BR Ambedkar, voter and her mother.
Senior MP Rahim Khan took oath in the name of Allah. B. Nagendra defeated B. Sriramulu, a powerful BJP leader in Bellary region, sworn in the name of Maharshi Valmiki and God. Krishna Byre Gowda, Dinesh Gundu Rao were also sworn in.
Apart from Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar, eight ministers – G. Parmeshwara, KH Muniyappa, KJ George, MB Patil, Satish Jarkiholi, Priyank Kharge, Ramalimga Reddy and BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan – were sworn in last Saturday in Bengaluru. However, none of them have been assigned any portfolios yet.
Madhu Bangarappa, B. Nagendra, MC Sudhakar, Laxmi Hebbalkar, Bhyrathi Suresh, Mankal Vaidya and NS Boseraju are cabinet ministers for the first time.
