Hyderabad: Another Vande Bharat express train is expected to be launched in the cities between Secunderabad and Nagpur soon. The Vande Bharat Express may have a top speed of 130 km/h. Currently, two Vande Bharat Express trains are operating, one between Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam and the other between Secunderabad-Tirupati. These two trains are very popular with rail transit users in the city, and the occupancy rate for the whole week is not less than 100%.
Southern Central Railway (SCR) sources said the trains were also fully booked due to high demand. With the success of these two services, it is learned that Indian Railways plans to launch Vande Bharat trains between Secunderabad-Nagpur in the coming months. It is understood that Indian Railways is planning these services together with the SCR authorities.
About 25 trains are already running between Hyderabad and Nagpur, both cities being business and business hubs. However, they are all express trains, not super high-speed trains. There is a lot of trade between the two cities and huge traffic is witnessed on a daily basis. The journey time on regular passenger trains is around 10 hours, while the Vande Bharat train is expected to cut the journey time down to around 6.30 hours.
The distance between Secunderabad and Nagpur is about 581 km and it usually takes 10 hours to cover the distance. Now, Indian Railways is trying to reduce the time from 10 hours to 6.30 hours by introducing new Vande Bharat trains. It is learned that railway officials have also finalized the route of the Vande Bharat train. It is expected to depart from Secunderabad via Kazipet, Ramagundam, Sirpur Khagaz Nagar and Balarsha. The Vande Bharat Express is likely to depart Nagpur at 6 am and arrive in Secunderabad at 12.30 noon and return at 1.30 pm and arrive in Nagpur at 8 pm the same day. An official announcement may be made in this regard.
