All five medical colleges combined will have 750 MBBS seats, says Medical and Health Minister Vidadala Rajani
Guntur: Five new medical colleges will start operating in Andhra Pradesh from this year, according to Health Minister Vidadala Rajani.
She said here on Thursday that the new medical schools set up in Vizianagaram, Nandyal, Eluru, Machilipatnam and Rajahmundry will fill seats in August and classes will start from September 1. All five medical schools combined will have 750 MBBS seats, she added.
“After the YSR Congress government came to power, we provided 462 medical PG seats. The first medical college was established in Visakhapatnam more than 100 years ago, and during these hundred years, we had only 11 medical colleges. But we After coming to power, as many as 17 medical colleges were established in these four years at a cost of Rs. 5 billion per university,” she said.
