San Francisco: Google will shut down third-party Google Assistant Notes & Lists integration on June 20.
Users have long been able to select a Notes & Lists provider in the Google Assistant settings to provide voice commands that let you create or edit lists/notes on speakers and smart displays.
According to 9to5Google, Google Keep, Any.do, AnyList, and Bring Shopping Lists are all available options.
The developer of AnyList announced in a blog post that “Google will turn off Google Assistant Notes and Lists integration for non-Google apps on June 20, 2023.”
“Unfortunately, this means that starting June 20, it will no longer be possible to add items to AnyList using the Google Assistant,” it added.
Additionally, the Notes & Lists integration is built on the same Conversational Actions/”Actions on Google” platform, which will be phased out next month, the report said.
Conversational Actions is the first method for third-party developers to integrate with Google Assistant.
However, third-party voice experiences, such as apps and games for visual interaction on smart displays or speakers, are no longer a top priority for the company.
At the same time, Google announced that it will migrate 1% of Chrome users to Privacy Sandbox in the first quarter of 2024 and deprecate third-party cookies for them.
Anthony Chavez, vice president of Privacy Sandbox, said the move will allow developers to conduct real-world experiments to assess the readiness and effectiveness of their products without third-party cookies.
