Gadaba: Five rosewood smugglers were arrested by task force police in three separate incidents on Saturday after they seized 62 rosewood logs worth Rs 6 million from Andhra Pradesh’s Kadapa district, officials said.
According to officials, the accused were identified as Chilpam Sambaiah (44 years old) and Yadamakanti Ramanaiah (53 years old), Mudda Narasimhulu (46 years old), Nakka Venkatesh (62 years old) and Vanam Chennaiah (70 years old).
The police said: “The police of the special task force captured 5 rosewood smugglers and seized 62 rosewood logs. They were involved in three incidents in Siddawatam, Rajampet and Tamballapally areas of Kadapa district.” According to the order of Kurnool Range DIG S. “DIG Senthil Kumar announced the rewards for the teams involved in these operations,” the police added.
