Hyderabad: Users around the world reported that Meta’s photo-sharing platform Instagram was not working on Friday. The app displays error messages to users such as “Sorry, unable to refresh the feed” and “Something went wrong.”
According to Downdetector.com, there are thousands of user-generated outage reports. A map by the well-known internet outage tracker shows that it affected users in multiple countries.

That said, in a classic event where people checked Twitter to see if the outage was common, soon #instagramdown started trending on the platform, sparking a meme fest.
“Instagram shuts down every 3 days and I’m so tired,” wrote one user. “#Instagram is down in all countries since last night. Due to this, the page itself is not loading on the desktop, (sic)” Another user shared a screen of the Instagram web app with an error message screenshot.
