New Delhi: Sharad Pawar on Saturday announced Supriya Sule and Praful Patel as working chairmen of the Congress Party.
Pawar made the announcement on the 25th anniversary of the party, which he and PA Sangma founded in 1999.
The announcement was made in the presence of NCP key figure Ajit Pawar.
Pawar offered to resign as party chairman last month, following an outcry from party members and other political leaders.
The NCP panel formed to consider Pawar’s proposal rejected his resignation on May 5 and urged him to stay on as party chairman.
