EducationUSA is operated by the U.S. Department of State to promote U.S. higher education opportunities to students around the world. It accomplishes this by providing accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date information on studying at accredited institutions of higher education in the United States.

EducationUSA centers can be found in various locations such as U.S. embassies and consulates, Fulbright commissions, bilateral centers, universities, and nonprofit organizations.
These centers are a major resource for international students, and EducationUSA advisors answer millions of inquiries each year. These highly trained advisors offer a wide range of in-person and virtual services guided by the comprehensive “Study in the US in 5 Steps” resource, which serves as a navigation map for the US higher education application process.
Students and their families can seek guidance from advisors on many topics, including the admissions process, standardized testing requirements, U.S. education funding, the student visa process, and preparing to travel to the United States.
In addition to assisting students, EducationUSA consultants play a vital role in supporting the recruitment and internationalization efforts of accredited U.S. higher education institutions.
They facilitate school visits, organize college fairs in person and virtually, and act as a conduit to share information about foreign education systems and scholarship programs.
By connecting U.S. and foreign educational institutions, EducationUSA advisors foster collaboration and create academic exchange opportunities.
In India, there are eight EducationUSA Advisory Services Centers (EAS) located in seven cities. The United States India Educational Foundation (USIEF) has five centers in Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi. The other three centers are the Yashna Trust in Bangalore, the Indian American Education Association in Ahmedabad and the Y-Axis Foundation in Hyderabad.
Throughout the year, these various centers organize specialized seminars, workshops on admissions application procedures and strategies, educational fairs and pre-departure orientation events.
USIEF’s EducationUSA Advising Services (EAS) administer a range of standardized tests at their locations, including the SAT I, SAT II, ACT, PSAT and AP tests. Details about these tests can be obtained by email or by phone from the Contact Center.
USIEF offers individual students a fee-based membership program that allows them access to resources such as library materials, test prep materials, CD-ROMs, student files, individual counseling, and special seminars and workshops.
