Chennai: A fire broke out in a prominent shopping mall in the Sowcarpet area of Chennai on Monday.
Firefighters from the Sowcarpet, High Court unit and Esplanade arrived on scene after a two-hour battle to extinguish the blaze.
There were no casualties in the fire, except that some shops, including a jewelry store and a pharmacy, were completely destroyed in the fire.
Police have arrived at the scene and are investigating.
Fire damage is yet to be assessed.
