In addition to the development of parks, city parks and theme parks, there is a broad focus on roadside and mid-street boulevard plantations. Greenways have been planted covering more than 12,000 kilometers across the state.
In order to facilitate recreational facilities for people in urban areas, green lung spaces are developed as urban forest parks on the fringes of cities and towns. To this end, a total of 109 urban parks were developed, covering an area of approximately 75,740 acres.
Within GHMC, 164 Haritha Vanams were developed and 1.06 million saplings were planted on 171,000 acres of land for the effective implementation of Haritha Haram.
