Hyderabad: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) authorities are studying the possibility of extending the ‘T-9 Ticket’ offer to all groups of people due to the positive response from citizens and staff throughout the week.
Beginning June 18, the RTC has launched a “T-9 ticket” exclusively for women and senior citizens who ride the state’s “Palle Velugu” buses. Tickets cost Rs 100 and these tickets are valid from 9 am to 6 pm and passengers can travel up to 60 km.
According to the relevant person in charge, since the launch of the preferential activity last week, it has received enthusiastic responses from various road sections and urban and rural bus users. Some citizens have been asking the RTC to extend this benefit to men in addition to increasing the effective travel time.
“With this ticket, passengers can save Rs 20 to 40 while riding the bus,” said a senior TSRTC official, adding that this has led to huge demand from others to join the offer.
Senior officials have recently gathered feedback from staff on the public’s reaction to the ticket concessions and are now planning to extend it to the general public. However, they have yet to reach a conclusion on fares and travel times.

Village bus officials, who were recently appointed to bring the public transport system closer to citizens, have begun to enter rural areas with various campaigns and performances at the RTC.
They have been working hard to increase public awareness of T-9, T-24, T-6 and F-24 fare deals, thereby increasing occupancy in these areas. Teams are visiting villages and making announcements using “Dappu” and other public address systems.
“The village bus officers have successfully attracted people to use the buses and raised awareness about the various citizen-friendly initiatives that have been put in place for the convenience of commuters,” an official said.
