Maharashtra Ironmen beat Uttar Pradesh Golden Eagles to claim inaugural Handball Super League title

Jaipur: Maharashtra Ironmen beat Uttar Pradesh Golden Eagles 38-24 in the inaugural Super Handball League final here on Sunday to claim the title.
The Ironmen were more aggressive in the first few minutes of the game, with Igor Chiseliov becoming their key player. Not only did he avoid the challenge, but he also managed to find a way to score.
Chiseliov was in fine form and got strong assists from Jalal Chiani and Sumit Gangas as the Irons made it 8-5 in the 15th minute.
Despite Omid Reza’s best efforts in the Uttar Pradesh goal, the Golden Eagles were unable to stop the goal.
Naveen Deshwar’s goal for Maharashtra also showed why he is one of the best goalkeepers in the league as he made crucial saves to extend his side’s lead .
At halftime, the Ironman led 16-12. Soon, goals from Chiani, Ankit and Manjit allowed the Ironmen to further extend their lead.
Chiselev won the “Most Valuable Player of the Match” award. Sukhveer Singh Brar of the Golden Eagles won the Ballon d’Or for his 102 goals in the tournament.
