Hyderabad: As many as 62,079 seats in the state’s 155 engineering colleges are up for grabs through the Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Entrance Examination (TS EAMCET) Phase 1 online consultation for 2023.
Overall, 80,091 engineering seats in 137 faculties were affiliated to affiliated universities. Among them, 70% or 56,064 seats belong to the convener’s quota.
In addition, 6,015 seats in 18 universities and their affiliated colleges and private universities will also be filled through tutoring, bringing the total number of convenor seats in 155 engineering colleges to 62,079. There are 4,713 engineering seats in 16 universities and their affiliated colleges. Similarly, two private universities have 1,302 seats.
Of these, computer science and engineering alone has 15,897 seats—the highest of all other engineering branches. This is followed by Electronics and Communications Engineering with 9,734 places and CSE Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning with 7,854 places.
“The number of seats is expected to increase as several private engineering colleges seek course conversion. Universities have sought to increase seats in CSE and related programmes. The government has yet to decide on seats and faculties,” a senior official told ETTelangana today‘
Registration has opened and the last date to process payments and place reservations is July 5. Certificate verification runs from June 28 to July 6, and the online option runs from June 28 to July 8. A total of 54,029 candidates have registered, paid processing fees and booked credential verification slots so far. Candidates are urged to provide as many options as possible for better courses and places at the University.
