Hyderabad: A moving bus of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) caught fire on the Peda Amberpet outer ring road in Hayasnagar on Friday. No one was injured in the incident. The fire is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit.
Police said the incident happened around midnight when the Rajhani AC bus was traveling from Hyderabad to Guntur with about 45 passengers on board.
The bus reportedly burst into flames and the driver noticed the situation and pulled the vehicle over. Passengers were alerted and fled to safety.
Bus crews alerted the fire department and police. The bus was badly damaged when fire department officials arrived and extinguished the flames.
“We suspect that a short circuit may have caused the fire,” an official said.
The case is under investigation.
