Karman: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar said TPCC Chairman A Revanth Reddy’s remarks against 24-hour electricity supply for agricultural needs proved once again that the Congress Party is anti-farmers.
The minister attended a dhana event in Raghunathapalem in the district on Wednesday against Revanth Reddy’s remarks after an appeal by BRS working chairman KT Rama Rao. Ravens Reddy’s effigy was burned in protest. Speaking at the rally, Ajay Kumar said the Congress leader’s claim that three hours of electricity supply was enough to meet agricultural needs was an injustice to the poor. He warned that if Congress came to power, dark days would return and farmers would suffer.
The Minister stated that Revanth Reddy did not care about farmers and agriculture, saying that if electricity is available 24 hours, farmers will irrigate their crops at a convenient time according to their needs. The Bharatiya Janata Party wants to fix agriculture’s connected electricity meters, while Congress says farmers don’t need 24-hour electricity. It is clear that both parties are anti-peasant and anti-people. Farmers and people should teach Ravens Reddy a proper lesson in his anti-farmer stance, he said.
During the time when the Congress Party was in power, there were many incidents of farmers dying from electric shocks and snake bites due to night supply. Ajay Kumar said Congress worked for middlemen, the BJP worked for Adani and Ambani and Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao worked for farmers.
MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah took part in the Sathupalli protest and burned an effigy of Revanth Reddy. MLA condemns Congress leader’s remarks. Similar protests took place in other areas of Kota Gudam and erstwhile Conman.
