An initiative led by Himanshu Rao Kalvakuntla has raised Rs 9 million to renovate Mandal Parishad Primary School in Keshawannagar, Serlingampally.

Hyderabad: An initiative by Himanshu Rao Kalvakuntla, grandson of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and son of Minister KT Rama Rao, raised Rs 9 million for the renovation of Mandal Parishad Primary School in Keshawannagar, Serlingampally.
The money was used to develop the infrastructure and provide additional facilities for the school. The funds were raised by Himanshu and his classmates under Community Action Services (CAS), an initiative of Oak Ridge International School in Kajaguda. He is the chairman of CAS. In addition to this, the funds raised also include funds under corporate social responsibility (CSR). Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy inaugurated the renovated school on Wednesday, on the occasion of Himanshu’s birthday.
Students from Oakridge International School have taught at Mandal Parishad School in Keshavanagar as part of their community service. After examining the conditions there, they decided to remodel it. The Education Minister thanked Himanshu and his team members for their contribution to the betterment of society. She also detailed several initiatives undertaken by the state government to improve public schools, including the Mana Ooru Mana Badi initiative.
