In a statement, the producers said the film has completed filming and post-production is in its final stages

Chennai: The 50th feature film by National Award winner Vijay Sethupathi is titled Maharaja and also stars filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, the producers announced on Wednesday.
The upcoming film is directed by Nithilan Saminathan, known for “Kurangu Bommai”. Sethupathi shared the news on his official Twitter account. “#VJS50 titled #Maharaja. Written & directed by @Dir_Nithilan,” the actor wrote alongside the film’s poster. Kashyap also shared the update on his Twitter page. “Even the dark ones fear his brutal politics. Beware, he is coming!! #VJS50 titled ‘#Maharaja’. Get ready for the toughest challenge in the game. While Kashyap is primarily known for his directorial work “Wasepur Gang 1-2”, “Dev.D” and “Mukkabaaz”, his film credits as an actor include “Akira”, “Imaikkaa Nodigal” and AK vs AK”. Maharaja is produced by Passion Studios and The Route’s Sudhan Sundaram and Jagadish Palanisamy respectively.
“Filming is complete and post-production is in its final stages,” the film’s producers said in a statement. The film also stars Mamta Mohandas and Natty (Natraj).
