ordinary: A Maharashtra doctor, Surekha Barlota, 46, died at the scene and four others were injured on Tuesday after hitting a tree in the village of Ganjal in Soan mandal.
Soan Deputy Inspector S Ravinder said Dr Barlota, a renowned gynaecologist at Yavatmal Regional Centre, travelled with her husband Piyush and her relatives Anita, Meenal, Aditi and Puja.
Piyush is said to have lost control of the steering while turning, causing the accident. They were travelling from Hyderabad to Yavatmar when the incident occurred.
The injured were transferred to a hospital in Nirmall and released in the evening.
