Hyderabad: Bollywood actress Kajol recently commented on how India is ruled by politicians with no education background.
Her remarks caused quite a stir in India and sparked outrage on social media. Amid the backlash, the popular actress clarified the issue on Twitter.
“I just wanted to express a point of view on education and how important it is. My intention is not to disparage any political leaders, we have some great leaders who are leading the country on the right path,” she wrote in a Twitter post.
In a recent interview with The Quint, Kajol said of women’s empowerment: “Change, especially in a country like India, is slow. It’s very, very slow because we’re steeped in our traditions and thought processes, of course , which has to do with education.”
“Political leaders don’t have a background in the education system. I’m sorry but I’m going out and say this. I’ve been ruled by leaders and a lot of them don’t have that perspective and I think education does give you, at least the opportunity to look for Different perspectives,” she added further.
