New Delhi: Shocking revelations are revealed in the charge sheet against BJP MP and former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
A female wrestler claimed Singer sought sexual favors instead of covering her medical bills, according to sources. According to her, Singer approached her and offered to pay for the treatment but asked for sexual favors.
The 1,600-page charge sheet was filed in Louth Avenue Magistrates Court, where the case is being heard. It contains the complainant’s testimony under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, revealing disturbing events.
In her statement, she recounted her ordeal. One of the complainants, identified in the charge sheet as “Wrestler No. 2,” revealed that Singh had summoned her to the WFI office at Ashoka Road after she returned to India after competing in a heavyweight final.
She alleges that Singer offered to pay for her medical treatment for a wrestling injury as a condition of having sex. However, the wrestler steadfastly rejected the move.
Another complainant, identified in the charge sheet as “Wrestler Six,” accused Singer of trying to trade protein supplements for sexual favors. She claims Singer would ask her about her health, practice progress and demand “intimate details”.
Complainants further alleged in their testimony that Singer and his close associates committed various acts of sexual abuse against them during domestic and international travel.
In addition, they claimed that Singh would threaten them by issuing notices of cause to compel them to comply with his demands. On May 6, 2023, during his investigation at the NPL Kingsway training camp, Singh vehemently denied having met female wrestlers alone at his official residence, where the WFI office is located.
He insisted that no wrongdoing occurred during the state training camp, as the entire area was extensively monitored by CCTV cameras.
In his testimony, the complainant also raised concerns about the integrity of the investigation by a government-appointed six-member oversight committee headed by Olympic medalist MC Mary Kom.
According to the wrestlers, committee members dismissed Singer’s alleged actions as innocent acts of good intentions and accused the complainant of misunderstanding the intent behind his actions.
