Telangana engineering aspirants welcome IT courses

halways: Undergraduate computer science and engineering and IT-related programs are in the highest demand among engineering aspirants in the state.

This can be seen from the number of students opting for these courses in the ongoing Telangana Common Entrance Exam for Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine (TS EAMCET) 2023 online consultation.

In the first phase of engineering seat allocation released on Sunday, a staggering 94.20% of the 55,876 seats in CSE and IT-related fields have been allocated to candidates based on their networking options.

Six courses at CSE – Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, Computer Science and Business Systems, IoT and Cybersecurity, including Blockchain, CSE (Networking) and CSE AI – have achieved 100% seat allocation.

Regular CSE courses had 23,467 seats, or 98.70% of the allocation, while 96.93% of the 5,215 seats in IT courses were allocated to students in Web Consulting.

Experts say the prospect of lucrative career opportunities in multinational corporations after graduation attracts students to careers in CSE and IT-related fields. In addition, a number of global IT giants have established branches in Telangana to provide diverse career options for engineering graduates.

After CSE, the Electronics and Communications Engineering course is one of the most popular, taking 87.10% of the 11,913 seats.

Mechanical and Civil Engineering courses known as evergreen courses are no longer evergreen courses based on assignments. Only 44.76% of the 4,064 seats in Civil Engineering and 38.50% of the 3,701 seats in Mechanical Engineering have been released to students based on the network option chosen by the students.

A total of 76,821 candidates participated in the certificate review in the first phase of online tutoring, and 75,708 students made online seat selection.

This year, 173 engineering colleges and universities have a total of 82,666 places up for grabs, of which 70,665 (85.48%) are allocated and 12,001 places are vacant, most of which are private engineering colleges.

A total of 31 universities (including 3 universities and 28 private colleges) received 100% seat allocation.
