angels: Elon Musk’s company Tesla has announced production of its first Cybertruck.
Recently, the electric car company tweeted a photo of workers wearing hard hats surrounding the sleek Cybertruck it said was built in Germany, according to CNN. Made at the Gigafactory near Austin, Texas.
Tesla unveiled a prototype of the futuristic Cybertruck in 2019 and said it would begin production by the end of 2021. The eye-catching prototype looks like a large metal trapezoid with wheels, the exterior of which is made of a stainless steel alloy.
However, a demonstration of a supposedly unbreakable truck window in 2019 backfired when a metal ball thrown at the window actually shattered it.
Tesla has been all but mum about its plans for the highly anticipated car, but announced in 2021 that an updated version is coming.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the company has yet to launch long-promised new vehicles such as the Cybertruck pickup due to supply chain issues.
However, in January Tesla announced that it would begin production of the Cybertruck later this year. The company has previously said that the car is expected to enter mass production in 2024.
As reported by TechCrunch, the Cybertruck has more than 1.5 million pre-orders as of November 2022, according to a report by Electrek.
