Telangana farmers and BRS cadres slam Congress over TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy’s remarks against uninterrupted free power supply to agricultural sector

Hyderabad: Telangana farmers and BRS cadres have lashed out at Congress over TPCC chairman A Revanth Reddy’s remarks against uninterrupted free power supply to the agricultural sector. On Tuesday, they held demonstrations in all Rythu Vedikas across the state for the second consecutive day to demand the removal of Revanth Reddy as Telangana NUC president.
Ravens Reddy has said the agricultural sector does not need free uninterrupted electricity, just three hours of power is enough. In response to the call of BRS Work Chairman and Minister KT Rama Rao, farmers and party cadres staged protests in all Rythu Vedikas to criticize the Congress Party’s anti-farmer policy.
While attending a farmers meeting, Panchayat Raj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao lashed out at Revanth Reddy, calling his remarks anti-farmers and insensitive. He said Reddy’s remarks showed the Congress Party’s attitude towards farmers. “If you believe in an anti-farmer Congress, you’re going to be drowned,” he said. He called on farmers to give Congress a proper answer in the upcoming elections.
At another meeting in Medchal, Labor Minister Ch Mallareddy said the TPCC chairman’s remarks were delusional and he did not understand the plight of farmers. “Revanth Reddy, who is a member of Congress and unable to develop the Medchal-Malkajigiri district, asked me what I had done for the country,” Mala Reddy said. He called on the people of Telangana to reject the Congress Party in the upcoming elections. Farmers in Medchal-Malkajigiri district have pledged to support Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao in the next election.
Narsapur MLA Madan Reddy echoed the sentiments of the expelled Congress and BJP, accusing them of adopting anti-farmer policies. Speaking at Rythu Vedika near the village of Tuniki in Medak district, he mocked the Congress party’s handling of the electricity issue in Telangana. He noted that under the BRS system, farmers can now farm without facing problems such as power fluctuations and equipment failures.
In Mahabubabad, MP Banoth Shanker Naik blamed the Congress party for failing to recognize the progress made for farmers under Chandrashekhar Rao’s government. Shad Nagar MLA Y Anjaiah Yadav has criticized the Congress party for plotting against farmers in Telangana.
