Kota Goodham: Rivers, streams and pools have come to life due to the continuous rainfall in the area over the past few days. But normal life and coal production are affected.
Dummugudem, Aswapuram and Manugur received 16.5 cm, 12.2 cm and 14.3 cm of rainfall respectively, Pinapaka and Cherla received 8.9 cm and 9.1 cm of rainfall respectively, and 9 Mandal regions received relatively high rainfall , 9 Mandal areas with light rainfall and moderate rain in the past 24 hours. Rainfall conditions remain deficient across eight mandalas.

Vehicular traffic was disrupted due to rainwater reaching the main road between Dumgudem Mandar Bairagulapadu Sunnam Batti village. The roads in Sangnam Bati village are waist-deep in water, isolated from the outside world.
Puvvada reviews flood situation
Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar held a teleconference with collectors in Khammam and Kothagudem districts as the meteorological department warned that heavy rains are likely in the coming days.
The Minister directed officials to take precautionary measures from time to time to avoid casualties. All relevant departments must work together, and the water conservancy department must be highly vigilant.
Coal production is affected
Coal production and overburden removal at SCCL’s open pit mines in Kothagudem, Yellandu, Manugur and Sathupalli districts have been affected by the rains. As the company suspended coal production, haulage tracks became muddy and pits filled with rainwater.
