Hyderabad: Ghatkesar police arrested two people, including a woman, in connection with the alleged murder of her husband last month.
Those arrested were K Eeshwarama, 40, and M Srinivas, 35, both laborers and locals from the Sangaredi area.
According to the police, the victim K Thukkapa (55 years old) was a worker, a native of Sangareddy district, who was married to Eeshwarama. A few years ago, Eeshwarama met Srinivas and the two allegedly developed an intimate relationship.
Tukapa noticed Ishwarama getting closer to Srinivas and warned her. The woman told this to Srinivas and the two decided to kill Ishwarama.
“On June 22, according to their plan, the woman came to Ghatkesar under the pretext of taking Tukapa to the hospital and informed Srinivas of the incident. Both of them bought a bottle of insecticide, poured it into a bottle of beer, and handed it to Tukapa. After drinking it, Tukapa lost consciousness.” Ghatkesar Inspector M Mahender Reddy said.
Police noticed the man was unconscious and rushed him to Gandhi Hospital where he died two days later while receiving treatment. The police transferred the body to the mortuary of Gandhi Hospital. After the autopsy, and because no one had claimed the body, last rites were held.
On Wednesday, a relative of Tukapa came to Ghatkesar police station to inquire about the case. “After identifying the man, the police investigated the case and detained Eeshwarama, who admitted during interrogation that he killed Tukapa with the help of Srinivas,” the inspector said.
Both arrested persons were taken to court and remanded in custody.
