New Delhi: On September 9th, a one-day shopping festival will be held here, combining fashion, food and folk culture, and several merchants and shopkeepers from the famous Chandni Chowk area will also participate.
CTI told reporters on Friday that the Chandni Chowk shopping festival will be organized by Delhi’s top trader body, the Trade Union, together with traders from the old marketing area.
As part of the event, food stalls, games areas, songs and dances will be organized.
“There will be no entry fee. Bollywood celebrities, politicians, media organisations, social media influencers and bloggers will also be invited,” said CTI.
CTI, in partnership with the Delhi Unstitch Salwar Suits Association (DUSSA), has also curated a series of luxury lifestyle exhibitions.
The exhibition will be called “Saubhagyawati Edition” and the festival will be an exciting amalgamation of 3F (fashion, food and folk culture).
CTI Chairman Brijesh Goyal said: “The main motto of the Moonlight Bazaar Shopping Festival is to showcase the diverse and vibrant culture of the Moonshine Bazaar and tell a wider audience about the nation’s capital’s oldest market.” The theme of the festival is “Business to Consumer and Business to Business”. This will help traders showcase their products and also allow people to explore the fashion, food and culture of the famous Moonlight Bazaar market, he added.
The festival will be organized with the help of different associations such as the Lionga Association, Jewelers Association, Business Association, etc. It will be held at a resort in South Delhi, CIT added.
Rajnish Kashyap, Partner at DUSSA said: “We thank CTI for giving us this opportunity to showcase our fashion to a wider audience and I hope many people around the world will join us.”
The event will showcase various fashion designs for upcoming festivals and weddings. CTI President Subhash Khandelwal said the festival will showcase the development of Chandni Chowk and also connect people from all corners of Delhi. The new generation will also be exposed to the traditional fabric designs of the old Moonlight Bazaar.
