Gurgaon: The Gurgaon police crime division busted an online gambling ring and arrested two men in Gurgaon’s Sohna district, an official said on Friday.
Those arrested have been identified as Mukesh Kumar and Satbir aka Santu.
The raid was carried out on Friday after Inspector Pankaj Kumar received information that two people were involved in online gambling at an apartment at Eldeco Apartments in Sohna, according to a police officer.
Varun Dahiya, ACP (Crime) of Gurgaon, said: “The accused were found to be using various Punjab Super websites for online gambling.”
An FIR has been registered against the suspect at the Sohna City Police Station under Section 420 of the IPC and Section 13 of the Gambling Act, Section 66D of the Information Technology Act.
During interrogation, they revealed that the suspect had been operating the site for the past few months, using it for betting and gambling activities.
“The police seized 13 laptops, 4 thermal printers and other electronic products used by the suspects for online gambling activities. The accused will appear in court for further proceedings.”
