In a statement issued on Wednesday, Laxman said that while Rahul Gandhi paid tribute to the statue of former prime minister Indira Gandhi installed in the Nangkat, he did not pay tribute to what is believed to be Telangana. Narasimha Rao, one of the supreme leaders, paid tribute.
Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha member K Laxman criticised MP Rahul Gandhi for not paying tribute to former PM PV Narasimha Rao during his visit to the project as part of “Bharat Jodo Yatra” and demanded an unconditional apology to the people of Telangana for insulting them leader.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Laxman said that while Rahul Gandhi paid tribute to the statue of former prime minister Indira Gandhi installed in the Nangkat, he did not pay tribute to what is believed to be Telangana. Narasimha Rao, one of the supreme leaders, paid tribute.
“PV’s statue is just metres away from Indira Gandhi’s, but he still doesn’t think it’s important to pay homage to the late leader,” he claimed. He also asked newly elected Congress president Mallikarjuna Kharge to clarify on the issue.
