Dharani Portal registered two years of operation with 281,000 gift deeds registered, 180,000 inheritance rights and 9.16 billion hits.
Hyderabad: On Wednesday, the Dharani portal registered two years of operation, registering 281,000 gifts, 180,000 inheritance rights and 9.16 billion hits. Since its inception on November 2, 2020, a whopping 1.124 million transactions have been completed and 316,000 grievances related to land disputes have been resolved.
Following its successful operation, a number of state governments are looking into extending the service through Dharani, in addition to exploring the possibility of replicating the portal.
Before the introduction of Dharani, transactions were only conducted at 141 branch registries across the state. After Dharani’s rollout, in addition to bringing the registration service closer to citizens’ doorsteps, registration is now taking place at the 574 mandal headquarters, officials said.
Earlier, after signing up, people had to run from one pillar to another post to get mutation updates in revenue records. Now, the mutation is executed immediately, and the e-Pattadar passbook is shared with citizens via text message within seconds. The physical pattadar passbook with 18 security features is delivered to the landowner by post within a week.
To date, the Dharani portal has recorded 9.16 billion hits and has completed over 2.6 million transactions. More importantly, Dharani helped resolve several long-standing grievances. About 297,000 cases were resolved using the platform, which were registered long ago but failed to complete the mutation.
The state government has resolved 316,000 complaints about specific land issues. To date, 1.124 million sales transactions have been completed through Dharani. Officials say the portal has instilled new confidence in farmers and NRIs, who are now reassured that their land is safe.
Dharani contains information on 1.54 million acres of agricultural land associated with 7 million pattadars. These people have been receiving Rythu Bandhu benefits without difficulty, they said, adding that all government lands, donated lands, Wakf lands, etc. are automatically locked and no transactions related to these lands have been carried out.
