Staff at the Siddipet Medical College were collecting health information from Siddipet police officers on Friday.
sidipe: In order to create a health file for the police in the Siddipet district, doctors from the government medical school here are conducting different tests on the police in the district.
Ongoing observation and regular monitoring of the health of the persons will be maintained and their health records will be prepared by doctors as instructed by Health Minister T Harish Rao and Police Commissioner N Swetha.
Health records will be developed as models for other regional police units. So far, doctors have compiled primary health files for 652 police officers in the area.
Dr G Srinivas, vice-chancellor of the medical school, said each police officer would be tested 55 times so they could seek medical advice if necessary. Police officers can protect themselves from 90 per cent of diseases by living a healthy life and staying away from bad habits, he said.
The Commissioner has appointed Dubbak Inspector Krishna and Reserve Inspector Sridhar Reddy as Node Officers for the project. Separately, DCP (Administration) S Mahendar said doctors would test all 1,479 police officers from the police chief to the Home Guard in phases.
Mahendar said the assigned team will monitor the health of Siddipet police personnel for two years.
