Hyderabad: TRS Rajya Sabha member Vaddiraju Ravichandra strongly condemns the raid by the ED and IT on the offices of the Granite Company in the state.
He said the ED and IT raids were aimed at Gayatri Group and Shwetha Group’s granite properties, which belonged to his family members as well as close relatives and minister Gangula Kamalakar, and were purely politically motivated.
Ravindra told media personnel here on Thursday that the federal government has no role in the operation of the granite industry because the mining issue falls under the purview of the state government.
He noted that while the industry has been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic, it has not offered any incentives and has sought to unnecessarily target their political roles.
“Our family business has also suffered due to the impact of Covid-19. But my family continues to conduct business in a transparent manner and I have nothing to worry about. We will fully cooperate with the investigating agency. However, I also ask the union government, In particular, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has supported the granite industry, which directly or indirectly provides jobs for thousands of people,” he added.
