The injured children were being treated at Gajwel Hospital on Friday.
Sidi Pate: Four schoolchildren were injured after a school bus crashed at the Gajwel Educational Hub near the town of Gajwel on Friday night.
According to Gajwel police, parents from Mylaram village in Wargal Mandal, whose children are attending a private school in Gajwel, rented a car owned by Alawala Narasimhulu, 35, to take their children to and from school every day. On the way back to Mylaram on Friday, the car turned into a turtle after Narasimhulu allegedly drove recklessly. He escaped and climbed a telephone pole when locals tried to beat him. Locals then called Transco authorities to make sure the power was off.
Police then persuaded him to get off the pole to ensure his safety. Police took him to the hospital for testing as his parents claimed he was drunk. Two girls, Sathvika (9) and Ruthvika (8), were seriously injured, while the other two survived with minor injuries.
