New Delhi: During the first half of the financial year, the top seven cities recorded significant growth in residential sales. Interestingly, Hyderabad saw a 130% increase in overall home sales value during the period – from Rs 6,926 crore in 1HFY22 to Rs 15,958 crore in 1H FY23. Nearly 22,840 homes were sold in Hyderabad in 1HFY23.
Cities including Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Pune sold homes worth Rs 1,558.33 crore in 1H FY23, up 119% YoY. Research by real estate consultancy Anarock showed that the total value of units sold during the same period in FY22 was close to Rs 71,295 crore.
Nearly 1,73,155 homes sold in the top seven cities between April 2022 and September 2022, compared to nearly 87,375 during the same period last year.
Anuj Puri, Chairman, Anarock Group said, “In terms of value, MMR topped the list of home sales in 1H FY23 with sales of Rs 7,483.5 crore, followed by NCR with sales of Rs 2,437.4 crore. The overall home sales value in India is growing by 110% per annum (Rs 3,561 crore in H1 FY22), but NCR has seen a growth of 174%.”
“In the first half of FY22, NCR’s total home sales stood at Rs 8,896 crore,” said Puri. Between April and September of the financial year, MMR sold nearly 52,185 homes, while NCR sold nearly 30,300 over the same period. MMR dominates home sales in both volume and value, followed by NCR and Pune.
