chicago: After an unseasonably warm week in the 20s, Chicago has suddenly entered winter, with snow falling into the third-largest U.S. city on Tuesday morning and continuing into Wednesday.
An inch of snow was measured Tuesday in O’Hare on Chicago’s north side, the first measurable snow of the season in Chicago, Xinhua reported.
On average, Chicago receives its first snowfall of an inch or more on December 7.
A colder wind with gusty winds is expected on Thursday after more snow fell on Wednesday.
AccuWeather, a provider of commercial weather forecasting services, reported a few days ago that an arctic air stream will sweep through the central United States this week. The air surrounding the region was even colder than normal for mid-January.
AccuWeather meteorologists further predict that the coldest air is yet to come.
