Hyderabad: On Tuesday, Narayanguda police arrested three people, including the maid, in connection with the theft of gold jewellery. Those arrested were maid Sunitha (alias Radha), her husband Suresh and her mother Shobha.
DCP chief (centre) Sunitha Reddy said the suspect Radha was working as a servant at Varun Doshi’s house in the old MLA dormitory in Hyderguda. On the afternoon of November 19, while the employer’s family was sleeping, Rada entered a room and took away a steel box containing gold ornaments weighing 81 torahs.
“Radha left the box near her employer’s door and told her husband Suresh about it over the phone. Suresh rushed to the scene and took the box and hid it in his mother-in-law Shobha’s room in Basheerbagh,” added Sunitha Reddy , the family plans to sell it later and use the money to start a business.
Warren called the police after noticing belongings were missing from his home. Narayanguda SHO R Srinivas Reddy and his team registered a case and started an investigation.
“We checked the signals from closed circuit cameras installed near the building and surroundings. The Call Detail Record (CDR) was analyzed and Suresh and Radha were taken into custody. During interrogation, they confessed the crime and brought us to Shobha . All three were arrested and property was recovered,” the official said.
