Hyderabad: Southern District Police on Friday arrested two chain snatchers involved in a string of crimes in Chatrinaka and Shahalibanda. Police recovered gold, two bicycles and eight mobile phones with a total value of Rs 6 lakh.
Those arrested were Mansoor Ahmed Abrar from Singareni Colony and Mohd.Sadiq from Champapet.
Police said Abrar was involved in a similar case earlier and was also jailed. After he was released from prison, together with Sadiq, he continued to carry out serial robberies in many places in the district.
Together they were involved in the Chatrinaka, Shahalibanda, Saidabad, Mailardevpally and Meerpet cases.
A recommendation to detain them under the Preventive Detention Act will be made to the city police chief, officials said.
