CM KCR said that the Indian Constitution, drafted by Dr BR Ambedkar, treats all citizens of the country equally regardless of caste, religion, class, color and region.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao extended his greetings to the people and nation of Telangana on the occasion of National Constitution Day, celebrated on 26 November, which marks the ratification of the Constitution of India.
The Chief Minister said that India’s constitution, drafted by Dr BR Ambedkar, treats all citizens of the country equally regardless of caste, religion, class, color and region. He said India’s constitution is considered the best among written constitutions in the world because it promotes the idea of equality for all.
To strengthen the spirit of federation, he said Telangana was formed under Article 3 proposed by Dr Ambedkar in the constitution. He said the state government would continue to govern in the same spirit and pay tribute to Ambedkar by naming the new Telangana state secretariat after him. A 125-foot tall bronze statue of Ambedkar was also erected in Hyderabad, which is unique in the world.
Chandrashekhar Rao said the constitutional spirit has been involved in the successful implementation of many programs aimed at empowering and protecting self-esteem for SC, ST, BC, ethnic and women’s groups and the poor, setting an example for others. He reiterated that the Telangana state government is committed to maintaining the unity of India with its many regions, languages, religions and cultural traditions and promoting unity in diversity. He has vowed to uphold the secularism and federalism enshrined in India’s constitution.
