Hyderabad: Expressing his government’s intention to develop Nizamabad into one of the beautiful and vibrant cities in the state, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao directed officials to take steps to complete all ongoing infrastructure in the city within the next two-and-a-half months and beautification works. He ordered the finance minister to release additional funds needed for the development of Nizamabad.
The chief minister, who called a high-level meeting in Pragathi Bhavan on Sunday, wants officials to develop Nizamabad at twice the rate of the city. In two months, he said, he would visit Nizamabad himself to inspect the ongoing development work. He handed over the responsibility of overseeing the development to local MLA Ganesh Bigala and asked him to coordinate with all departments including Panchayat Raj, Roads and Buildings and Municipality. He directed the officials on the approach that Nizamabad city development should follow.
Chandrashekhar Rao said that there is no shortage of funds and efforts should be made to make Nizamabad a beautiful and livable city. Taking Gamman City as an example, the Chief Minister recalled that with the efforts of the state government, this once neglected city has developed into a beautiful city. “Let Nizamabad be as beautiful as Khammam,” he asserted. He directed officials from Nizamabad to visit Khammam and study the development work carried out by the local government.
Chief Minister asked officials to convert all gravel roads in Nizamabad city to BT roads. He also directed them to submit proposals on city requirements including cemeteries, cemeteries, general markets, community halls, garbage dumps, vegetable and non-veg markets in Nizamabad city and complete the work as soon as possible. In Nizamabad, modern Dobhi Ghats and modern salons should also be built, he said.
Chandrashekhar Rao inquired about the status of the public gardens in Nizamabad city and directed officials to improve all public gardens that are on operational readiness. He asked officials to beautify Nizamabad railway station and prepare plans to use all government land in Nizamabad for public purposes. He also asked them to submit plans for the use of available vacant land in the city.
Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao, who was present at the meeting, explained to the Chief Minister the development work his department was doing in the state. He explained the municipal sector’s efforts to develop the nation’s cities into world-class destinations. Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy also gave details on the construction of the auditorium in Nizamabad city. MLC K Kavitha has asked the Chief Minister to construct a bus station, a sports ground and Haj Bhavan in the city.
