San Francisco: After some users reported they were unable to block accounts, Twitter CEO Elon Musk claimed on Monday that a “slight drop in service” on the microblogging platform was caused by an old “3rd party tool” that has now been removed. Remove fixed.
Musk tweeted: “Twitter service down slightly today due to old 3rd party tool used to block accounts without rate limiting (sigh)…should be fixed now.”
Several users expressed their views on Musk’s post.
“Wish I hadn’t done that because I blocked a lot of people,” said one user.
To which Musk replied: “You’re probably not blocking 4,000 accounts per second.”
Another user said: “Thank you for being transparent!”
Earlier this month, some Indian users experienced brief outages on the Weibo platform.
The mobile version of Twitter works fine, but desktop users are having some issues logging into the platform.
