Apple rolled out the iOS 16.1.2 update, which includes security fixes and improved crash detection.
San Francisco: Apple has released its latest iOS 16.2 beta update which introduces a new feature that helps reduce scrolling for users, i.e. old notifications will now be shown by default without swiping.
According to MacRumors, iPhone users with iOS 16.2 beta 4 will only need to swipe up once in the notification center to view the latest and old notifications.
In iOS 16 and earlier, older notifications do not automatically appear in the Notification Center like they did in iOS 15, but must be manually displayed by swiping up from the middle.
For example, if a user unlocks their iPhone and then locks it without disturbing it, iOS treats it as an old notification and sends it to Notification Center where important notifications are hidden.
It should be noted that in iOS 16.2 beta 4, the lock screen will continue to hide old notifications unless the user swipe up from the middle of the screen.
The change to display older notifications by default applies only to the Notification Center, which can be accessed by swiping down from the top of the screen when the iPhone is unlocked, the report said.
In October, Apple released the first iOS 16.2 beta to developers, which allows users to send a report to the company when Emergency SOS is accidentally triggered.
