Hyderabad: SC Welfare Minister K Eashwar said Industry Minister KT Rama Rao may lay the groundwork for the construction of the Christian Bhavan in Uppal Bhagayath before the Christmas celebrations.
He said the state government would hold a big Christmas celebration in the city on December 21 or 22. The minister held a meeting with community representatives at the SC Corporation offices on Saturday to discuss arrangements for the celebration.
During the meeting, the minister said that the state government has decided to allocate land for the construction of Christian Bhavan. Therefore, Industry Minister KT Rama Rao will lay the groundwork for the construction of the Bhavan in the two-acre area of Uppal Bhagayath before the festivities begin, he said.
Also, distribution of saris has started in all districts as part of Christmas celebrations as stocks have been dispatched, he said. The Telangana government is working for the welfare and development of all communities, the minister said, cutting the Christmas cake after the meeting.
