Warangal: Dr V Suresh Babu, Professor and Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Warangal Institute of Technology, said the teaching process has been revolutionized in the past decade and traditional methods are outdated in the current situation, especially in the context of outcome-based education system.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) of Kakatia Institute of Technology and Science (KITS), Warangal and the Department of Mechanical Engineering of NIT, Warangal, are jointly organizing a national Faculty Development Program (FDP) on the theme of “Innovative Teaching Process of Mechanical Engineering (ITLPME-2022)”, 5-9 December.
Dr Suresh Babu said after launching the project here on Monday that TLP has shifted from being teacher-centred to student-centred. He details the latest software tools and advanced techniques in the TLP of the current OBE system.
Dr K Raja Narender Reddy, Department of ME, KITS, said the department has received a DST-SERB project worth Rs 1.5 lakh for the 2022-23 academic year. In his Chairman’s Address, KITS President Prof K Ashoka Reddy said the institute has been implementing the OBE system since 2014.
KITSW Academic and Research Coordinator Prof RV Chalam, FDP Coordinator Dr U Shrinivas Balraj, Associate Prof NITW, ME, Head of Department of Physical Sciences Dr Karthik Balasubramanian, Dr D Prabhakara Chary and more than 50 faculty members participated in the FDP.
