UPDATE – 12:08 AM, WEDNESDAY – DECEMBER 7
Hyderabad: Mangalhat police have issued a notice to Goshamahal lawmaker T Raja Singh for allegedly making derogatory comments on social media in the context of the 30th anniversary of the demolition of the Babri Masjid on Tuesday.
“You posted a photo with an objectionable caption targeting a particular community in breach of a condition imposed by the Honorable High Court,” the notice sent to lawmakers said.
Police are asking for a response to the notice within two days or legal action will be taken.
The High Court recently struck down the PD bill against the lawmaker and released him. It also asked lawmakers to stop making any provocative remarks about any religion or posting any material on social media platforms.
The lawmaker was allegedly arrested and detained under the PD Act after he made derogatory comments in a video targeting the Prophet Muhammad.
