20-year-old student rescued when he got stuck between platform and train at Duvvada railway station
Visakhapatnam: The 20-year-old student succumbed to his injuries on Thursday after being rescued when he became stuck between the platform and the train at Duvvada railway station.
Shashikala was trapped between the railway platform and the train as he disembarked from the Guntur-Rayagada Express on Wednesday morning. As a first-year MCA student, she was on her way to university and traveled from Annavaram to Duvvada.
Unfortunately, she accidentally slipped and fell when getting off the platform, got stuck between the platform and the train, sprained her foot and fell into the track. Railway crews had to break through part of the platform to pull her out during a rescue operation that lasted an hour and a half.
The student was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment and was transferred to KIMS Hospital, where she died on Thursday while receiving treatment.
