Rajendranagar police have arrested four people in connection with the kidnapping and robbery of Mohd Irfan (21), a driver, which was reported on Tuesday.
Hyderabad: Rajendranagar police on Thursday arrested four people in connection with the kidnapping and robbery of Mohd. Irfan (21), a driver, who was reported on Tuesday.
Those arrested were Shaik Irfan Ahmed, Syed Mohammed Fawad Qureshi, Shoeb Akthar and Mohd.Mudassir, all residents of Sun City, Rajendranagar.
Irrfan and the suspect were friends, belonged to the same neighborhood, and often held drinking parties. The suspect was involved in similar cases earlier and was also sentenced to prison. Police said the suspect had been asking for money for the drinks, which Irfan refused to give. Therefore, they held a grudge against him and planned to kidnap and rob him.
As per their plan, the gang abducted him from his car in Langar Houz on Tuesday afternoon and drove to a construction site in Kismathpur, Rajendranagar.
“They stripped him naked, tied him to a pole and tortured him. They further filmed the act and shared it on social media and threatened him,” the police said.
Irfan, who fled the scene, reported the incident to the police. A case has been filed and the suspect has been detained.
