Hyderabad: BRS working chairman and IT minister KT Rama Rao recalled here on Friday that the coalition government had to give in to the iron will of Bharat Rashtra Samithi President K Chandrashekhar Rao to achieve an independent Telangana state.
The IT minister, who shared photos of a frail Chandrashekhar Rao in hospital in 2009, tweeted: “Dec 9 is the day when the center bowed to the iron will of independent Telangana movement leader K Chandrashekhar Rao , he launched an indefinite hunger strike in order to sacrifice his life to endanger the status of an independent state.”
“A historic milestone that propels the Telangana movement to its destination and breathes new life into a 60-year aspiration!” he said.

The center comes down to the day of the iron will of the leaders of the KCR movement who embarked on a death march, risking their lives to achieve the achievement of Swarashtra and declare statehood.

Finance Minister T Harish Rao also tweeted: “Dec 9th is the day the coalition government announced the formation of Telangana after Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao went on an indefinite hunger strike for 11 days. This historic moment has passed 13 years.”
On that day, the center decided that KCR made up his mind and KCR risked his life for an 11-day death initiation, saying that Telangana would come. KCR will succeed. Incidentally, December 9 marked another historic moment when Chandrashekhar Rao officially launched Bharat Rashtra Samithi, marking his foray into national politics.
