Nalgonda: Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, who has been facing various issues within his own party, made it clear on Sunday that he will contest from the Nalgonda parliamentary constituency in the next election and will also run on the congressional ballot.
Venkat Reddy, confident of winning with a supermajority, told the media he was speaking at a news conference with a congressional scarf over his shoulders wondering why anyone would question which party he would run vote. Venkat Reddy, who said he would not talk politics a month before the election, said he would start visiting the constituency from January next year.
Earlier, Venkat Reddy reacted strongly to YSRCP leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy’s comments on the re-merger of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, saying that the people of Telangana built an independent state through a long struggle. He pointed out that 369 youths lost their lives in the 1969 Telangana riots and 1,200 youths in the last Telangana riots for the cause of nation building. He said the remerger would never happen and asked YSRCP leaders to stop making such statements.
In Nalgonda, he claimed the area was less developed than Siddipet, Gajwel or Sircilla and urged Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to approve 300 double bedroom houses per village and 500 double bedroom houses per municipality within the constituency.
